For me, going to Mecca isn’t just another task to do during the day like it was going to a regular gym, it’s something I look forward to every session and I always feel so welcome - part of a community that is accepting of all people. While I was at a regular gym I would have sessions where I was a bit lazy or just not very keen to be there which would result in a poor workout and almost a waste of time. Mecca allows you to get to the end of the day with a sense of accomplishment.

During the early months of 2020 I was finding myself feeling down and unmotivated to do much in the way of gyming, work and general day to day tasks. I attended a regular gym but after a month or so I found my motivation for that was dropping too. When I trialled Mecca, no matter how I felt walking through the door, I always ended up giving each class all I could without having to build myself up to do the workout. It’s not only due to the people who attend, but the coaches too. No matter what stage you are at, whether you are at RX+ or on the lightest weights at the gym, they always help you and make you feel good. I'd leave feeling like I had accomplished something significant which in turn helped me with my day to day life.

Even after months of work at a regular gym I wasn’t making much progress, but at Mecca I am increasing the weights I can lift week on week, performing more gymnastics movements and have found a massive increase in my endurance. It has motivated me to get excited about every new week to see what more my body can do.
